Poetry of Fire: Chromatic Exploration in the films of  Ana Mendieta, Derek Jarman, and P. Staff

Organized by curator Jay Ezra Nayssan and Del Vaz Projects in collaboration with the Estate of Ana Mendieta, the LUMA Foundation & Basilisk Communications, Ltd., and artist P. Staff, this event presents a program of ten films created by Ana Mendieta, Derek Jarman and P. Staff in which all three artists engage in chromatic experimentation and manipulation to visualize an alchemical fusion between the earth and body. 

 

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Chrissie Iles, Anne & Joel Ehrenkranz Curator, Whitney Museum of American Art, artist P. Staff, and curator Jay Ezra Nayssan.
